Granada Vehicle Storage Facility

Project Description

The existing CDOT Maintenance Site in Granada, CO consisted of one existing Vehicle Storage/ Maintenance Facility (VSF) and a newly constructed sand shed. WEC was tasked with fitting a new 6-bay VSF between the existing VSF and the new sand access and existing utility placement. The back side of the building did pose a challenge as it needed to grade away from the building at a steep slope to tie into existing grade before it encroached on the existing vehicle access.

Highlights

Western Engineering Consultants and RKS Structural were challenged with fitting the new VSF on the Granada site that already had a smaller VSF and a newly constructed sand shed while maintaining vehicle access.
